Description
Between the provinces of Trapani and Agrigento, the "Three Days Tour" will offer a great chance to take knowledge of various types of tracks, hilly and mountain, rocky and muddy, dusty and wet, smooth, fast, affordable for all and also technical and hard in some snags, where you will need to push on the pedals .
The images speak by themselves so the invitation is open to all the bikers who want to try these three days of adventures, having the opportunity to engage with the nature of each place where we will go.
The tracks are inside natural reserves managed by the company of regional forests, from which is possible to have panoramic views of great beauty with vertiginous climbs that are reflected in the blue of the sea that surrounds the headland.
Inici Trails
Mount Inici is a must-to-ride trail, an appointment you have not to miss. Starting from the town of Castellammare, a transfer on asphalt will bring you into a reserve area, with plenty of dirt roads and singletracks.
One of the main roads will bring you up to the mountain top at more than 1000m above the sea, after a climb of 12km (along this, other technical singletracks might be explored), steep and rocky in a few parts. On the top, an amazing panorama will let you see the surrounding landscape, from the sea to the inner countryside. Then, a fast and funny descent, rocky in many parts, brings you down from the sea side of the mountain to a picnic area close to the town. The transfer on asphalt brings again to the starting point into the reserve area.
Hills Trails
The second trail of the "Three Days Tour" is located in the inner side of the southern Sicily, for a total length of 40,4km, partly on asphalt and partly on off-road tracks. The route starts from the village of Sambuca di Sicilia, following the road down the hill and then turning right on the road, with an increasing slope. After about 7km on asphalt, turn right again and then turn left at the second route, entering the forest at the reserve area of mount Genuardo.
Here, the road mainly on dirt, will take us up to the top where there is a lookout tower, at the elevation of 1164m. From there, the descent is partly on single track and partly on broad road.
For trained bikers, for to the length and the variety of tracks to be drove.
Segesta Woods
The last trail of the "Three Days Tour" is made of two different tracks, the first one into the Angimbè wood. Here, the trails are pretty good in all weather, with a few technical sections where the rocks can get quite slippery when wet.
The whole trail is mainly hilly (the section shows this) with a length of 11km and the top at 408m. Funny and not to be missed.
A few kilometers far from Angimbè, after a transfer on asphalt, the trail into Scorace wood will be the 2nd part of this daily trail. There are plenty of dirt roads to be climbed and singletracks to be descended, with variations between the trails.
Going out from the wood and back to the starting point, the path will have a total length of something like 20km.
