How Many People Are Actually Interested In Guided Bicycle Tours?

That’s an important question to ask… don’t you think?

Today I want to try and answer that question by once again sharing with you the results of a survey I conducted with more than 10,000 of my readers at BicycleTouringPro.com.

In said survey I asked my readers one simple question:

On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 1 being the least interested and 10 being the most interested), how interested are you in participating in a guided bicycle tour?

Here’s an example of the numbers people reported: 5, 7, 5, 6, 4, 2, 1, 10, 3, 7, 5, 6, 4, 8, 8, 5, 8, 5, 5, 6, 10, 1, 3, 5, 3, 10, 10, 6, 6, 3, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 3, 3, 3, 6, 6, 1, 4, 1, 8, 8, 3, 5, 2, 7, 2, 1, 7, 8, 1, 10…

Don’t worry, I’m not going to list the 10,000 survey results I received. Instead, I’ll do the math for you. I think the results might surprise you!

Of the 10,000+ people I surveyed, most people reported an interest level of: 6

Now, an average interest level of 6 in guided bicycle tours might not seem very high to you, but the fact that the number is above 5 means that most of my readers have at least some interest in participating in a guided bicycle tour.

Let’s assume for a moment that of those 10,000 people I surveyed, 60% of them have an interest in guided bicycle tours. If you were to multiply that out for my total annual readership (which is currently around 500,000 people), we would be talking about approximately 300,000 people from all around the world who are interested in participating in a guided bicycle tour!

Wouldn’t you like to tap into a market like that?
