Description
Ride every mile of this world famous rail-trail. Begin at the Homestead Works with the majestic skyline of Pittsburgh standing watch. You will quickly leave the city behind and meander down the tree tunnel of the Great Allegheny Passage. Explore small towns, marvel at the bridges and tunnels, or dangle your feet in the river. The Youghiogheny River will be our companion for the first 3 days and then we crest the Eastern Continental Divide and begin the descent of the Allegheny Front. Our journey ends in the "Queen City" of Cumberland, Maryland at the old Western Maryland Railroad Station which is now a National Park Service museum.
