Description
You are riding up the Elbe River. Probably you will be cycling easy. Because the wind is usually coming from the north, you will not have to face the headwind. The path is going along the Elbe Valley and therefore you have not to manage any climbs.
Nevertheless we would only recommend the tour for children older than 13 years, because the first two sections of the tour are quite long and require a certain speed. But you don’t have to be extraordinarily sporty to ride the tour.
The tour starts in the Lutherstadt Wittenberg. In this town the Reformation began and it is a world heritage site. You will cycle through beautiful Elbe meadows, heathland and Saxon villages via Torgau, Meißen, Moritzburg and Dresden to Bad Schandau in the Saxon Switzerland. You can get back to Dresden by train, which goes every hour.
