Description
Welcome to Ormánság region, in southern Hungary! During this short bike tour, you will discover the small beautiful villages from south Hungary, the Harkány resort, and at the end of the way, you will see the Drava river, which represents the natural border between Hungary and Croatia.
That's not all: you will taste the traditional food, prepared with love and passion for you!
What will you see:

- The church from Kórós which is unique, due to the interior
- Other old churches: Adorjás, Drávapiski, Rádfalva
- Museums (in Szaporca)
- natural landscapes alongside the Drava river and the Black river
Tour details
This is a short route, around 40 km. It can be done in one day, but we recommend you to do this way in two days.
The land is almost flat, so the difficulty level of this route is low. We will cycle on asphalt roads where the traffic is so light, and sometimes on bike lanes (eg. the bike lane alongside the Black river).
Our organization has also a bike rental, where you can rent a bike for the trip. It offers you vehicle assistance and tour guides in English, Hungarian, Romanian and Polish language.
The accomodation: our organization cannot provide accomodation, but we have strong partnerships with a guesthouse situated in Diosviszlo. Here at our organization you can find toilets and showers and you can fill the bottle with fresh water.
Day by day itinerary
Day 1.
We will start from the Greenway Touristical Information Point, from Kémes. From Kémes, we will go to Szaporca, where we will visit the "Eperfa Tájház" museum, a small museum situated in an old traditional house. Further we will go to the Sightseeing point, near Szaporca. There is a tower where you can see the beautiful panorama of the Black river and the village of Szaporca.
From Szaporca, we will go back to Kémes and will drive further to Drávapiski and Adorjás, on the main road. This road is narrow, and the traffic is light. Alongside the road, the landscape consists mainly in small forests and agricultural fields.
Sometimes, this landscape might be boring, buti t doesn’t take so long. We are getting soon to the capillary narrow road which leads to Adorjás. There we can stop for a couple of minutes, to see the Protestant church. It was built between 1835-1837, and inside, the church furnishing is covered by a variety of colourful painted patterns.
We continue our route further on this narrow road and the next stop will be in Kórós. The main attraction in Kórós is the Protestant Church , built between 1791-1795, and restored in 1835. It is famous for the coffers of the ceiling, decorations which makes this church unique in the region.
The next village is Diosviszló, which is situated on the southern side of the Cser Hills, where the soil is proper for grapewines. Interesting to visit here is the Ormánság Gate, the Calvinist church which was built using the ruins of former castles and public donations in 1800.
In Diosviszló is situated the guesthouse where you will get accomodation.
Day 2:
From Diosviszló, we will drive further to Harkány, an important spa resort. After we spend a while in Harkány, we will drive to Drávaszabolcs, alongside the Black River. Drávaszabolcs is situated at the Drava river, the natural border between Hungary and Croatia. For those who are interested in longer bike tours, with more complexity, we can offer a guided tour to the Golden Valley, in Croatia. But now, we will not cross the Drava, we will return to Kémes through Drávapalkonya and Drávacsehi.

How to get to Kémes:
- If you don't bring your own bike, you can get here by bus from Harkány. There are regular buses from Budapest to Harkány.
- By request, we can transport you here to Kémes by our minivan
