    Description

    Colorado has many famous passes and divides. On this tour you will climb over 35,700 feet in just over 336 miles. You will climb the famous "Soul Crusher" climb on Cucharas Pass, Greenhill, Bigalow and Wixson divides, Current Creek Pass, Independence Pass, McClure Pass and the Grand Mesa. You will also be treated to small batch breweries and wineries along the way. This is a tour that will help you see Colorado from a truly local, off the beaten path, perspective.

    Day 0 - Denver to Trinidad
    Today we will meet in Denver for lunch before heading south to Trinidad

    Day 1 – Trinidad to Walsenburg over Cucharas Pass
    Distance ~60 miles
    Elevation gain ~5,000 feet
    Today will take you over Cucharas Pass, 9995 ft., along the same roads as the Stonewall Century. The climb is known as the Soul Crusher.

    Day 2 - Walsenburg to Caňon City over 3 Divides
    Distance ~58 miles
    Elevation gain ~6,600 feet
    Today you will ride over three divides in 58 miles. This ride will finish at the Royal Gorge Brewing Co and Restaurant for a well earned post ride pint and meal.

    Day 3 - Caňon City to Buena Vista over Currant Creek Pass
    Distance ~56 miles
    Elevation gain ~6,560 feet
    Today you will ride over Current Creek Pass on your way to Buena Vista where we will stop over to the Eddyline Tap Room and celebrate the days ride. After a beer you can go for a soak in the local hot springs before dinner.

    Day 4 - Buena Vista to Aspen over Independence Pass
    Distance ~63 miles
    Elevation gain ~5,200 feet
    Today you will head out from Buena Vista on your way towards Independence pass, the highest point of the tour at 12,095 feet, From the top of the pass you will descend into Aspen where we will sample beer from the Aspen Brewing Company. We will overnight in Aspen and you are on your own for dinner to take in some of the world class restaurants and pubs in this unique ski town.

    Day 5 - Rest day in Aspen

    Day 6 - Aspen to Cedaredge over McClure Pass
    Distance ~70 miles
    Elevation gain ~7,000 feet
    Today's summit is not too high but there are some really steep sections for you to tackle. The final 2.5 miles of the climb ramp up to almost 11% in grade. At the end of today's ride your pint of beer will taste amazing.

    Day 7 - Cedaredge to Mesa over Grand Mesa
    Distance ~38 miles
    Elevation gain ~5,400 feet
    The final ride of your tour will take you up and over Grand Mesa. After the ride we will have an early dinner before our return drive to Denver.
