Description
Bring in the new year with a bang by taking on some of the toughest and most spectacular climbs that Chiang Mai has to offer.
This is not a tour for the faint-hearted but if you are the sort of person who relishes a challenge, whose eyes light up when the road goes up, we think you will love this tour. You will certainly be rewarded with spectacular vistas and a genuine sense of achievement
For the first four nights we'll base ourselves in Chiang Mai, a bustling, vibrant and culturally significant city in the North of Thailand. From here we will ride some of the most spectacular climbs accessible from the city such as Hmong Lodge Viewpoint and Four Buddha Footprint. We will experience the real Thailand, cycling past farms, through local villages and enjoy the outstanding natural beauty of the area.
Day four will be a well-earned recovery day with a gentle, mostly flat afternoon ride to the foothills of Doi Inthanon from where we'll tackle Thailand's highest peak over the course of the next two days. Not only will we take on the infamous 48km ride from Chom Thong, the start point of the annual race to the summit of the Doi, but we will finish our tour with a tough but exhilarating ride up from the lesser known, shorter but harder Mae Chaem side.
This is a tour for cyclists posessing a good level of physical fitness.
