Description
This two country Beer & Bike Adventure will take you between Berlin, Germany and Copenhagen, Denmark. Two of the most cycle friendly capitals in Europe. You will cycle out of the northern side of Berlin into the Brandenburg countryside. We will follow the Havel River towards the Baltic Sea crossing the Mecklenburg Lakes, where Müritz is the largest of more than a thousand bodies of water. History and culture follow in Neustrelitz, Güstrow and Rostock. From there we hop a ferry to Denmark. Continuing along the coast we will explore the Danish countryside and hospitality. Upon arriving in Copenhagen we celebrate what was a ride of a lifetime. We do offer trips heading from Copenhagen to Berlin if you want to do it all over again.
Berlin, Germany is our starting point on this tour. If you would like to run this trip in reverse please contact us and let us know. Berlin is a wonderful city full of history and adventure. Berlin is home to countless museums and beer gardens to keep you happy for a long time. We strongly recommend getting to Berlin early and exploring.
DAY 1: Arrival in Berlin/Oranienburg
Arrival in Oranienburg which has a direct train connection with Berlin, we will help you arrange travel from the airport or train station.
DAY 2: Oranienburg to Fürstenberg ~40 miles
We begin our tour biking along the Oder-Havel-Canal to Liebenwalde. Here you can find a museum in a
former prison. We continue along the Havel to the charming town of Zehdenick, spending the night in
Fürstenberg.
DAY 3: Fürstenberg to Neustrelitz ~37 miles
After breakfast we will find your way to the town of Stechlin which, through the writings of T. Fontane,
plays a big role in many legends.
DAY 4: Neustrelitz to Waren ~42 miles
The highlight of today’s ride is the stunning Müritz-National Park. This park is scattered with more than
130 lakes all surrounded by miles of paths and trails. With a little luck you might see an eagle in this
area.
DAY 5: Warren to Krakow am See ~31 miles
Today’s route is all about tranquility as you bike through the Nature preserve "Nossentiner Heide". You
will also bike through large forests on your way to Krakow.
DAY 6: Krakow to Güstrow ~19 miles
The shortest day of riding will take us to Güstrow, A sightseeing tour in the Old Town and the E. Barlach
Atelier upon your arrival is time well spent.
DAY 7: Güstrow to Rostock, ~23 to 34 miles
We spend entire day is spent cycling along the Bützow - Güstrow canal. Rostock is a great town on the
Baltic Coast with lots of history and great food and beer.
DAY 8: Rostock to Nykobing, Denmark ~20 mi.
Today we will transfer from Rostock to the harbor and board the ferry. The ferry ride takes 2 hours until
you reach Gedser. After arriving in Denmark we will enjoy beautiful landscapes biking over dikes and
through small forests along the best beaches of Falster.
DAY 9: Nykobing to Stege, ~44 miles
Our second day in Denmark is a beautiful ride. We will bike along the coast to the old merchants town of
Stubbeköbing. Before you take the ferry to the island of the Oldtown of Bogö is a great place to have
some lunch. We will spend the night on the island of Mön. This island has incredible steep chalk cliffs
called "Møn Klint". On quiet country roads you can explore this little village with its straw covered roofs,
or find a beach to go for a swim in the Baltic Sea.
DAY 10: Stege to Koge ~63 miles
We will start the day biking over the bridge from Mön to Sealand. Over quiet country roads you'll bike
through a coastal landscape heading north. Villas, mansions, pastures, and farmlands decorate the
landscape.
DAY 11: Koge to Copenhagen ~30 miles
A portion of today's route is on bike paths along the coast. Upon arriving in Copenhagen our celebration
will begin. We will have a great meal and plenty of beers to celebrate our ride.
DAY 12: Farewell from Copenhagen
With our journey at an end you may continue to explore or make your way to the next destination.
