During the eighties the remaining warehouses were given new functionality. The development of this area with some unique designs such as the Bimhuis, SBS buildings and several head offices of multinationals then came to be.

The Eastern Harbour Area, including the New Music building and the Passenger Terminal offers it's visitors a variety in succeeding architectural styles.
