Combine the best of Berlin - bicycling, beer gardens, summer and the Berlin Wall for a 5 day adventure filled with history of the Berlin Wall, stops at beer gardens and breweries, cycling in the city and countrysides surrounding Berlin and stay in historical Potsdamer Platz, near the Brandenburg Gate. With your personal English speaking guide you will see more than just the main tourist spots of the Berlin Wall and instead bike the whole route and see the ins-and-outs of the Berlin Wall and how it changed the city of Berlin and the world. Tour guides lived in Berlin for 2 years and have rode the whole “Berlin Mauerweg” and locals will join us at different parts of the tour. Trip could be done with a bike trailer or trail-a-bikes for families.
Day 1: Check into Potsdamer Platz hotel and meet in lobby in the afternoon for a bike check and to distribute important trip information and necessities. We will bike to the Brandenburg Gate and have an introduction to the Berlin Wall. Then bike through Tiergarten park and past the Reichstag and eat dinner at the beer garden in the Tiergarten. Bike back to hotel.

Day 2: Hotel breakfast and meet at Brandenburg Gate. We will bike going clockwise from Gate and visit the famous East Side Gallery and Oberbaum bridge. Then we start to explore the countryside, local neighborhoods, lesser know memorials and will eat lunch at a local beer garden. We will also master our skills at following the "Berlin Mauerweg" signs. Dinner back at Potsdamer Platz.

Day 3: Hotel breakfast and meet to take the train back to where we finished Day 2. Get ready for a truly exciting and historical day biking through Potsdam and the Wannsee! We will stop at the Burgershof for lunch - a beer garden with a unique history and right on the water. The wall boundaries actually cross the lake so we will take a ferry with our bikes and head towards Spandau. Finish the day with dinner at the Spandau brauhaus - a special brewery with excellent German food.
total ride Day 3 = ~60km or 37 miles
Day 4: Hotel breakfast and meet to return to Spandau. We will visit more memorials and stop for lunch at the Bernauer Strasse museum and spend time at the museum while touring the existing wall sections. Ride to Bornholmer Brucke to see where the first checkpoint opened on Nov. 9, 1989. Bike back to Brandenburg Gate to finish our tour. We will celebrate our tour back in the Tiergarden at a different beer garden.

Day 5: Hotel breakfast and meet to go to the famous Checkpoint Charlie museum to learn more about the wall, the history and its' global impact. We will lunch together afterwards and celebrate.
