Biking the Fjords – Sunnhordland

Experience the wonderful westcoast of Norway, the fjord landscape of Sunnhordland on a bicycle! Start and ends in Bergen.

Visit the Barony of Rosendal, the blues village of Skånevik, village of Leirvik and the idyllic merchant centre of Bekkjarvik to spice up the trip. You will experience a little piece of Norway with mountains, fjords, vigorous rural landscape and picturesque villages.

The trip begins with the expressboat Hardangerfjordekspressen from Bergen to Rosendal, then cycle along the Hardangerfjord to Utåker. The ferry takes you over to the lovely village of Skånevik. For those who want more cycling, there is a nice detour from Skånevik to Etne and back, before the expressboat takes you on to Stord next day. From Stord you cycle to Fitjar and get the ferry from Sandvikvåg to Husavik. There’s just a short distance from Husavik to the old merchant centre of Bekkjarvik, where tasty local cooking and comfortable beds awaits you. In Austevoll you can take extra trips across the bridge to the islands of Stolmen, Hundvåkøy and Store Kalsøy the day you arrive, or next day, before you go by expressboat back to Bergen.
